Welcome back to another episode of Cooking with Århus, where we show you how to make the most of your cooking skills and create something delicious using our jams and preserves.

Today we have a new recipe for you, and it is an easy and healthy blueberry scones recipe served with our Århus Blueberry No Sugar Added Preserves.

There is nothing more satisfying than homemade blueberry scones, especially those topped with our Blueberry Preserves, adding a touch of fruity sweetness to the crumbly bake. This recipe proves that baking scones is quick and easy, plus by making them from scratch with fresh ingredients, without a packet mix in sight, they are healthier than most! In fact, we might go as far to say that these are our favorite scones, and it’s maybe the best blueberry scones recipe ever! With that said, here’s the recipe!

To start off, preheat the oven to 400°F or 200°C. Tip your flour and butter into a food processor, secure the lid and whiz it all together until the mixture forms a fine breadcrumb texture. Pour in the sugar and milk, and blitz the mixture again until it creates a rough crumbly dough. If you don’t have a food processor, don’t worry, you can easily make this by hand in a large mixing bowl, it just needs a bit of extra elbow grease! Tip the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it to bring all the crumbly pieces together. Remember, don’t overhandle the dough as it will make the scones tough. Flatten or roll the scone dough out to around 1 inch thick and, using a round cutter, press out as many scones as you can. Line them up on a floured baking dish and bake for 20 minutes until they are golden brown and slightly risen. Leave to cool on a wire rack. Once cold, cut them in half and serve with a big spoonful of Århus Blueberry No Sugar Added Preserves.

  1. Preheat Oven to 400° F. 
  2. Use a food processor to mix self-rising flour, 2 oz butter.
  3. Place in a bowl and add, 2 tbsp sugar, and 3.5 fl oz milk.
  4. Flour your work surface.
  5. Turn dough and knead with floured hands. Do not over-knead!
  6. Cut and bake for about 20 min.
