Welcome back to another episode of Cooking with Århus, the channel where we inspire you with incredible recipes and ideas of what to make using our Århus preserves and jellies.

In this episode, we will give you an unbelievable, mouth-watering burger recipe. We are making big juicy burgers full of caramelized onions made with our Århus Merlot Wine Jelly and served with Århus Sugar-Free Ketchup. What can be more satisfying than a huge burger filled with all the sides? These burgers have all that and more!

This burger recipe includes cheese, lettuce, and tomato, but it also has a special layer of homemade caramelized onions, made with our Århus Merlot Wine Jelly. Caramelized onion recipes usually require a big bottle of wine that you will never finish, so we have created this incredible Merlot Jelly that you can keep in the fridge and use for marinades, sauces, and gravy, or to simply add more flavor to your food.

In this video, we use simple beef burger patties, but feel free to make your own to create this incredibly quick and easy burger recipe! Let’s get started!

Slice an onion, and heat some olive oil in a non-stick pan. Once hot, add the onion slices, lower the heat and cook with a bit of salt until soft. Add the Århus Merlot Wine Jelly to the softened onions, and cook until dark and sticky. Now it’s time to build your burger! Fry your meat burger patties – you can choose any meat you prefer – until hot, browned in patches, and smelling delicious. Flip them over and top with cheese, so it melts in the pan. Add some butter to the pan, and toast your burger bun. Once the bread is nicely charred, set the two halves on a plate and top with lettuce, the cooked cheeseburgers, tomato, and a big spoonful of Merlot caramelized onions. Drizzle the Århus Sugar-Free Ketchup on top.

  • Toast buns with butter.
